Cowboy Country Log Homes chooses to use water-based stains because we believe it is better for the logs and the environment. A water-based stain allows the logs to breathe. This allows any moisture inside of the logs to escape, greatly reducing the risk of trapping moisture in the log, potentially creating the hazard of the logs rotting from the inside out.
Stain application is done by using an airless sprayer to spray on the stain followed by back brushing to really drive the stain into the freshly prepared wood.
